Love’s Never Meant to Be a Long Talk
Loving words are not a license for kids to do what they want. They are a reminder of a safety net for them to know that my job as a parent is not to punish but to love. To come to know their makeup, what triggers them, and what motivates them to do both appropriate things and inappropriate things. And to learn what scares them so I can avoid such behaviors on my part.
